We’ve painted many a porch in the Triangle  a soft blue-green color called “Haint Blue”.  So what’s a haint you ask? A haint is a Southern colloquialism for a ghost or apparition. For many generations, Southerns have painted their porches this color so their homes will be protected from haints. It was believed to protect the house and the occupants of the house from evil.  While the last few generation of Southerners may believe this to be superstitious nonsense, they continued to have their porches painted Haint Blue because that’s what their family did before them. The practice of using Haint Blue has become based more on tradition than superstition.

When you decide you want have your porch painted Haint Blue, or any other color, give us a call or request an appointment online and we’ll be happy to provide a free estimate.
